If you are looking for something that is tasty, creamy, quick and easy to make, look no further because you have found the perfect recipe. This banting Chicken a la King will hit the spot and will literally leave you licking out the plate. I made this for supper recently and even the kids loved it. Unfortunately, I had to cater for my unhealthy husband so I cooked up some spaghetti for everyone else and then just topped it with the chicken. I found that it was filling enough for me on its own but if you need to have it with a side, then try making some cauliflower rice with it (I will put the link below if you would like to add that).




To make the Chicken a la King, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 3 Tablespoons of butter
  • 1 Tablespoon of coconut oil
  • ½ Green Pepper cut into slices
  • ½ Red Pepper cut into slices
  • 1 – 2 cups of sliced mushroom
  • 4 – 5 Chicken Breasts cut into strips
  • Himalayan Salt to taste
  • Black and White Pepper to taste
  • Garlic flakes to taste
  • 250ml of Fresh Cream
  • 2 Tablespoons of Cheddar Cheese


  1. Melt the butter and the coconut oil in a frying pan.
  2. Add the chopped onion and allow to braise.
  3. Now add the red and green peppers and cook until slightly soft.
  4. Add the chicken and season with salt, pepper and garlic.
  5. Cook the mixture until the chicken is cooked through and then add the fresh cream.
  6. Allow to simmer for 5 to 7 minutes on medium heat and add the cheese about a minute before cooking is complete.
  7. Enjoy!
