Happy 2017 my beautiful people! So we are one week into the new year and currently my whole world is surrounded with people talking all about the goals they will be achieving and how pumped up they are! It’s like the moment the clock struck 31 December 2016 23h59m59s all of a sudden there was some button in the universe that just struck everyone into energy mode lol.

The beauty in all of this is that we see the new year as another opportunity, as hope for a positive outcome this time around and it is the case. I am just not sure why everyone waits for a new year and doesn’t just start? I have had a hectic 2016 that totally zapped the life out of me, but I firmly believe that our experiences are here to shape and mould us into the very best version of ourselves and it is not the be all and end all.

So I didn’t end up having the bikini body I wanted this December, but having started the banting lifestyle recently has made me see numbers on the scale and on the measuring tape that I have literally not seen in more than 7 years.  I am over the moon about it. I had set these mini goals for myself and I smashed it! Huhooooo!

I have been setting the same goal every year of trying to lose weight for about a decade now and it has just never happened. I am so grateful to say that I have finally found something that actually works and it’s not a shake or a pill lol. I like keeping things real and I can honestly say that the first 10 days were really hard, but once you are over the hill my friend, it becomes almost effortless.

If you are like me and you have the same goal again this year to lose weight (I do believe that there are quite a few of us lol) the important thing is to keep moving forward. Ask yourself why you did not achieve your weight loss goals last year and then think about how you are going to do it differently this time around. This is not the first time I have tried banting (in the same year). I have tried and failed before because I feel that I was not educated enough about how to make the transition from my normal way of eating to the banting lifestyle. This time around I am doing things differently by learning how to prepare meals the banting way and educating myself about ingredients. I know that there are others out there just like me, which is why I started the banting recipes channel and also because I know that it really works. I have witnessed a lot of people literally melting away before my eyes in a matter of weeks and I know that those of us who are struggling can achieve it too.

Be strong my good people and keep moving forward! Don’t let anything set you back. Progress is key, not perfection!
